The U.K. government is seeking new deception technology concepts for the British Army through a Defence and Security Accelerator competition.
The novel technologies, including decoys of personnel, military activities, in-service platforms, systems and hubs, are critical to 21st-century land operations, during which militaries use advanced sensors and weapons.
According to DASA, capabilities that can deceive non-communications sensors and adversarial radar will enable the Army to perform surprise attacks on enemies and buy time and opportunity for land forces.
The government will accept proposals to join the five-month competition until July 9, with plans to select up to eight tech concepts and award a total funding of $1.14 million. The concepts should result in solutions no higher than Technology Readiness Level 5.
The competition is divided into two challenges. One challenge involves demonstrating innovations designed to prevent the discovery of static and moving platforms and systems.
DASA will host a webinar on June 7 to inform interested parties about the British Army’s deception technology needs.
