Serco has expanded its partnership with Starburst Aerospace to provide startup space companies in the United Arab Emirates with increased access to the latest innovations in the sector to fast-track their space technology development efforts.

Starburst and Serco already have a collaboration agreement focused on supporting European startups, providing them with Earth observation and space data access and data management services.

Under the extended collaboration, the companies aim to contribute to the UAE’s growing space industry by enabling startups to take part in international space-related projects.

Christelle Astorg-Lepine, managing director of Starburst France, sees the Middle East region as a promising market in space exploration. “By joining forces, we aim to leverage our collective strengths and knowledge to make meaningful advancements in space technology and drive progress in this exciting and dynamic field,” she said.

The partnership was announced following Serco’s launch of its Middle East Space Division. According to Amar Vora, Serco’s head of space for the Middle East, the new division will “support the development of local capabilities and skills in the UAE through the management and nurturing of space ecosystems.”
